Job Posting: National Reconnaissance Office

The U.S. Department of Defense agency and one of the "big five" U.S. intelligence agencies is hiring an Ombuds. The NRO Office of the Ombuds reports to the Office of the Director and serves as all NRO personnel. Applications collected in this search may also be used for current and future NRO Ombuds positions. The job is based in Chantilly, VA, and some travel is required.

The position is open only to U.S. citizens and requires TS/SCI security clearance. The GG-14/15 position pays from $132,368 (GG-14) to $183,500 (GG-15) per year and applications are due by May 8, 2023. (NRO Posting.)

    Sadly this announcement is not fully transparent in terms of title. It is an Ombuds and Grievance Officer. The 8th point of the responsibilities states that the incumbent, "Facilitates the NRO Grievance Program..."

      You are correct about the duties. On the posting (linked above) the full title is "NRO Ombuds - Senior/Expert Level."

      I agree. They've chosen a misleading title that isn't reflective of the full scope of duties.
