Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences (Høgskolen i Oslo og Akershus, "HiOA"), Norway's largest public university has appointed its first Studentombud: Anita Tøien Johansen. She will serve a student population of more than 16,000 for an initial appointment of two years and reports to HiOA's head of internal auditing.
Johansen has been head of the student parliament at the University of Bergen and has worked for the Directorate for Education and Training. She earned a master's degree in law from the University of Bergen. She started earlier this month and will be Norway's second student Ombuds after the University of Oslo appointed an Ombudsperson for Students. (HiOA News.)
