The community college system in Central Texas has re-opened its internal search for its first Faculty Ombudsperson. The position is open only to current full-time faculty members. The ACC Faculty Ombuds will report to the provost and provide confidential and informal assistance to faculty members and students with concerns about a faculty member. An early search ran in May 2018 and coincided with an external search for a Staff Ombuds, which has not been announced yet.
The Faculty Ombuds appointment is for three years, subject to an annual review and renewal. It is not clear whether it will be full-time or something less. Applicants are expected to complete IOA training and CO-OP designation is preferred. Applications are due January 14, 2018. No compensation details are provided. (ACC Job Posting.)
