University of California Riverside Ombuds Andrew Larratt-Smith is hosting a meeting of the Southern California Ombuds Group on Monday, December 3rd. Geared towards members of the Ombuds community and those interested in Ombuds work, the event starts at 8:30 am with breakfast (the program starts at 9 am) and run until about 3 pm. Immediately following, UCR will be hosting a lecture and reception to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Ombuds Office.
The agenda is still being finalized, but is expected to include sessions by Tom Kosakowski on “Questions We Ask Visitors” and Larratt-Smith on “Ombuds Intersections with Formal Processes.” Additional facilitator and presentation materials are still being solicited. Anyone interested in facilitating a 60-75 minute session, or with a topic idea should contact the UCR Ombuds Office. Registration for the events is free. Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments will be provided, although there may be a small parking fee. Please RSVP to ombuds @ ucr.edu by November 25th. Additional details including directions, parking instructions, and the full agenda will be provided later.
