University of Luxembourg Names First Ombuds

Université du Luxembourg
has selected Brent Epperson as its first Ombudsperson. For the past seven years, Epperson has been the Graduate Ombudsman at the University of Alberta. He will provide services to all stakeholders at the country's only public research university starting
in March after completing an onboarding period.

Epperson has worked at for more than a decade at Canadian universities in the areas of governance, teaching, research, and advocacy. In addition, he did a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at the French National Centre for Scientific Research. He earned a BA and MPA from the University of Montana and a PhD from the University of Alberta. He has been an active presenter at Ombuds events, including the California Caucus of College and University Ombuds and the Association of Canadian College and University Ombuds. Epperson speaks English and French, and is currently learning German. (LinkedIn.)
