German Studies Association Appoints First Ombuds

The international organization for scholars of German, Austrian, and Swiss history and culture has named Silke-Maria Weineck as its first Ombudsperson. GSA created the Ombuds role as part of new policies to address harassing behavior. In this new role, Weineck will serve over 2,000 GSA members and conference attendees following IOA standards for two years. 

Weineck is a Professor of German Studies and Comparative Literature at the University of Michigan. She is the author and editor of several books.
