University of Delaware to Revisit Calls for Ombuds

The faculty senate at the land-grant university in Newark will take up a proposal for a campus Ombudsperson at its next regular meeting on March 1, 2021. Various groups have promoted the idea for over a decade, but failed to gain sufficient traction. The UD faculty senate last considered the issue in 2018 when a committee recommended the creation of an Ombuds program for all faculty, staff, and students. (UDaily; Report of Ombuds Committee, 2018.)
