The California State University in San Diego has opened an internal search for an Assistant Student Ombudsman. The full-time position reports to SDSU's Student Ombudsman, Darrell Hess, and has been held by Karla Ramirez for two years. The Office of the Student Ombudsman at SDSU serves a student body of about 34,000.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of experience in student services. Preferred qualifications include a relevant Master's degree and "extensive experience working with students in an Ombudsman type of environment within the CSU system." Starting salary will not exceed $55,320 per year (the lowest end of the salary range). Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. (SDSU Posting.)
Extensive experience and a masters but a salary that is essentially the minimum salaried wage for CA???? (Hourly is a different calculation, but salaried is $50k-something).
