Job Posting: University of Massachusetts Boston

The only public research university in Boston has opened a search for its first Ombudsperson. The new position will report to the UMass Boston Chancellor and establish a program for all members of the campus community—a total population of nearly 25,000. Boston has the highest concentration of University Ombuds in the world and that is reflected in the job posting, which expressly and carefully reflects IOA standards. The Chancellor himself announced the search process in October this year.

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree, CO-OP certification, at least five years of Ombuds experience, and extensive progressively responsible and relevant experience. Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree, management/supervisory experience, and Ombuds experience in higher education. No salary or application deadline indicated.
