University of Arizona Ombuds Retires

Somehow, it escaped our notice that Claudia D'Albini, program director of the UA Ombuds Program, retired at the end of November 2011. The campus celebrated her 24 years of service, which included stints with the Office of General Counsel, and the Office of the President, and, since 2003, the Ombuds program.

Within the Ombuds profession, D'Albini was active with California Caucus of College and University Ombuds and she served on the board of directors for the University and College Ombuds Association and the International Ombudsman Association. She served on the editorial board of the Journal of IOA, helped launch the IOA Mentoring Program, and spoke at many conferences. UA has announced that it will conduct a search for a successor. In the interim, Ombuds Co-Chairwoman Sarah Evans will continue the program (although the website is currently down). (Lo Que Pasa.)

  1. It has been a pleasure to work with Claudia and she is missed daily here at the University of Arizona.
