Medical University of South Carolina Appoints First Ombuds

The small private medical school in Charleston has named Dr. John Waller as its first Ombuds for faculty and post-doctoral fellows. Waller joined the MUSC faculty in 2002 as Professor and Chair of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine. In a previous appointment at the Emory University School of Medicine, he handled high-level disputes and conflicts.

Waller has been active in several professional organizations, including stints as President of the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists and Chair of the International Anesthesia Research Society. He is now also a member of IOA. (MUSC Ombuds.)
