Frank Fowlie will become the Ombudsman for the International Organization for Migration in Geneva starting September 2012. IOM is a United Nations affiliated agency that promotes international cooperation on migration issues. The IOM Ombudsman position reports to the Director General and serves as a resource for employment-related problems of staff members.
Fowlie currently is the pricipal of internetombudsman.biz, a consulting firm that specializes in Ombuds issues. Previously, he was the first Ombuds for the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers from November 2004 to January 2011. Fowlie is an alumnus of the University of Manitoba, University of Regina, and Royal Roads University where he earned a Master of Arts in Conflict Analysis and Management.
