VCU has appointed William E. King to be its new Ombudsperson starting August 1. “I am excited that William King has decided to join us as our new ombudsperson,” said Beverly Warren, Ed.D., Ph.D., provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at VCU. “His background and experience in mediation and dispute resolution in an academic environment will be an invaluable resource here at VCU and ensure that our university remains one of collegiality, openness and inclusion.”
King has been the Ombuds at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth since 2006. In addition, he was the Ombuds for Colorado State University from 1994-2003. King is earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Emporia State University.
He replaces Frank Baskind, who has served as VCU’s Ombuds for the past five years and will return to the faculty of the School of Social Work. (VCU News.)
