Chuck Sloane has been appointed the University Ombuds for UW and will start in July. University of Washington President Michael K. Young said, “Chuck Sloane has the skill and passion for helping individuals solve problems and resolve disputes within large organizations.” He will succeed Susan Neff, who retired after working in the UW Ombudsman Office since 1994.
Sloane has been a Deputy Ombudsman for King County since 2008, where he worked with county residents to prevent conflicts, resolve problems and promote public confidence in county government. He also worked on alternative dispute resolution projects at Snohomish County and Multnomah County, OR. Sloane gradauted from UW and earned a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Portland University. He also completed ADR training from the UW Law School. (UW News.)
