DPS, the second largest public school system in Colorado, is hiring its next Ombudsperson. The program was established in June 2021 by Sharon R. Bailey and who passed away unexpectedly last month. The position serves only employees, currently about 15,000, who work at more than 200 school sites. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree, at least five years of relevant experience (i.e. employee relations, employment law, investigation, alternative dispute resolution and arbitration, mediation), and a permanent home address in Colorado. Preferred qualifications include experience in education or public sector organization, professional certification (ADR, CO-OP, SPHR/PHR, or SHRM CP/SHRM SCP), and bilingual Spanish skills.
