  1. As the Ombuds concept gathers fire in many organizations, locally through globally, Halmos College stands to benefit substantially from Neil Katz' life's work as a peacemaking practitioner and practice oriented scholar. He is a legendary mentor and equally legendary listener! The skills he has imparted have been applied in de-escalation efforts among aggrieved communities in contexts as diverse as the African Great Lakes region, Nepal, and northern Iraq. This step will grow that legacy in an institution known for prizing love of learning and its commitment to the Scholarship of Engagement.
