Furman University Extends Ombuds Program to Staff
John Kemp has been named the first Staff Ombudsperson for the small, private, coeducational liberal arts college in Greenville, South Carolina. He joins Furman's Faculty Ombudsperson, Victoria Turgeon, who established the office in 2016. Kemp takes on Ombuds duties in addition to his full-time work as Senior Director of Planned and Major Gifts.
Kemp has worked for the university since 2006 and also is an alumnus. His career includes non-profit experience at United Way of Greenville County, business experience in logistics, and brief military experience as an officer in the U.S. Army. (Furman Ombuds.)
