Larry Catá Backer has been elected the new University Faculty Ombudsperson at Penn State for a four-year term. He follows Mohamad A. Ansari, who served in the role for the past five years. Backer has been a member of the faculty since 2001 and is currently Professor of Law and International Affairs. He has held a range of elected and appointed administrative positions at the university. He currently teaches courses on corporate social responsibility, corporations, multinational enterprises, and the constitutional law of religion. Backer graduated from Brandeis University, and earned an MPP at Harvard and JD at Columbia. (Penn State Faculty Ombuds.)
