The United Nations Ombudsman and Mediation Services ("UNOMS") is hiring a Conflict Resolution Officer based in Goma. The current Regional Ombudsman is Tjitske de Jong, the former World Food Programme Ombudsman.

Applicants must have advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in a relevant area or equivalent experience; and at least five years of professional experience. For this post, English and French fluency is required. Applications are due by August 20, 2022. (UN Jobs.)

They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness. These unique characteristics distinguish Organizational Ombuds from Classical Ombuds, mediators, arbitrators, and other alternative dispute resolution professionals.
