Kamaria B. Porter has been hired as the first Associate Ombudsperson for the private research university north of Chicago. She will expand Northwestern's Office of the Ombudsperson and report directly to the University Ombuds, Sarah Klaper. Porter is expected to provide Ombuds services to faculty, staff, and students following IOA standards.
Porter brings 15 years of higher education and organizational development experience to the position. For the past two years, she has been an Assistant Professor of Education Policy Studies at Penn State University and also a Visiting Scholar at the American Bar Foundation. She has held other positions at the University of Michigan, the Center for Education Design, Evaluation and Research, National Forum on Higher Education for the Public Good, and Loyola University Chicago. Porter graduated from the University of Notre Dame and earned an MEd at Loyola University Chicago and a PhD at the University of Michigan. (LinkedIn.)
