University of Washington Associate Ombud Retires

Ruthy Kohorn Rosenberg, an experienced and highly respected Ombuds, has announced her intention to retire in August. She was the inaugural University Ombuds for Brown and served in that position from 2012-2020. She has spent the last four years as an Associate Ombud at the University of Washington.

Rosenberg's Ombuds worked capped a three-decade career as an ADR practitioner. She mediated community disputes with the Cleveland Mediation Center and the Center for Mediation and Collaboration in Rhode Island, served as a chief of staff to several deans of medicine at Brown University, developed conflict resolution services at MIT, and taught as an adjunct professor. She has volunteered on IOA's Board of Directors and other committees, and currently is a member of Cal Caucus board, planning committee, and program committee. She plans to continue mentoring new Ombuds with IOA and is also planning to become a leadership coach.

UW has opened a search for her replacement.
