WHO has reopened its search for a Regional Ombudsperson to be based in Manilla. The full-time position serves WHO personnel in the country and region, and reports directly to WHO's Regional Director. This is a fixed-term appointment for two years.

Requirements for the position have not changed from the initial search in May 2024. Applicants must have an advanced university degree or equivalent; at least ten years of relevant work experience (including five years as a mediator, Ombuds, or conflict resolution manager, and at least five years of management experience); and excellent knowledge of English. Desirable qualifications include: CO-OP accreditation; mediation accreditation; ADR training; previous experience of management in international, intergovernmental organization, government or national public institutions; and intermediate knowledge of another regional language. Organizational Ombuds serve as a confidential, independent, neutral and informal dispute resolution resource for a specific entity. They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness. These unique characteristics distinguish Organizational Ombuds from Classical Ombuds, mediators, arbitrators, and other alternative dispute resolution professionals.
