In January 2010, Pauline Harris was appointed the Ombudsperson for the Oklahoma State University System, an institution comprising four campuses, two medical centers and 33,000 students. Harris concurrently serves as the Coordinator for Diversity Education in the Office of Institutional Diversity Department of Affirmative Action, a position she has held since January 2009.
Her private sector experience includes over ten years of corporate human resource and executive coaching experience. Harris earned her BS from Pittsburg State University, MA and EdD in Occupation Adult Education from Oklahoma State University. It seems that a system as large as OSU would need at least one full-time Ombuds, especially with the inherent conflict of interest of also filling a compliance role.
