The science and medicine training program in Germany has appointed Marion Frankenberger as its first Student Ombudsperson. The very small institute is located on the campus of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and is a collaborative project of several German research programs.
According to a CPC website, the Student Ombuds, "is designated to mediate between students and their supervisor(s) or peers in case of a conflict of interests [and] all conversations are highly confidential." CPC enrolls about 25 students in each cohort and they are eligible to nominate individuals for the Ombuds position. Frankenberger is a senior scientist with Helmholtz Zentrum München, a CPC partner organization. (CPC Ombuds.)
