Lehigh University Appoints New Faculty Ombuds

Elizabeth (Beth) Dolan has been named the second Ombudsperson for the private university in Bethlehem, PA. She joins Robert Thornton, who has served in role since 2014. Dolan is an Associate Professor of English and has been at Lehigh since 2001. The Lehigh Ombuds office serves about 9,000 faculty, staff, and students. 

Dolan graduated from Davidson College and earned her PhD at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has held a number of administrative positions at Lehigh, including associate chair for junior faculty development in the English department, founding director of the Health, Medicine, and Society Program, and a faculty investigator for the Title IX office. (Lehigh Ombuds.)
