The Minnesota school district with over 36,000 students is still seeking applications for its next Ombudsperson. The full-time position reports to the MPS Chief of Staff and works with parents, students, community members and employees.
According to the job description, the Ombuds, "investigates complaints lodged against MPS...; acts as an intermediary between MPS and its constituents; develops recommendations for resolution of issues, reports on the findings, and assists in achieving equitable solutions." Mary Jo Reiter has held the position for the past 11 years.
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and three years of community relations experience in public education; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and
