Paul Otto, the Ombudsman for the semi-public Brazilian energy company, has started a monthly column to, "to make public the Ombudsman's views on matters that give rise to some sort of special consideration or even detail the Ombudsman's own procedures, all in pursuit of coming even closer to the stakeholders."
In his first posting, Otto highlights the growing importance of women in the company's workforce. He points out changes in Petrobras's policy and practices to encourage participation by women. In addition, he reminds readers that his office, "can receive complaints regarding the encroachments that embarrass woman precisely for their being women or because they are a sign of sexual harassment practices."
