WSU has established its first Ombuds for Ombudsman for Students in the College of Pharmacy. As the Ombuds, Associate Professor Mark W. Garrison will serve as an additional resource for students. "Mark will provide support and advice to students who need a trusted and impartial intermediary to whom they can voice their concerns,” said Gary M. Pollack, dean of the College of Pharmacy.
Garrison has been a pharmacy faculty member since 1989 and he was honored as a "teacher of the year" the past four years. Garrison earned his BS and PharmD from the University of Minnesota, and he was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Minnesota and St. Paul Ramsey Medical Center. His primary research interest includes pharmacodynamic evaluations of various antimicrobials. His appointment as Ombuds is effective through June 30, 2013. (WSU News.)
