The NIH Office of the Ombudsman is hiring a Scientific Dispute Specialist. The position "will serve as a dispute resolution practitioner for work and lab-related concerns utilizing the principles, techniques and concepts of ombudsman practice including alternative dispute resolution (ADR), facilitation, interest-based negotiation, conflict coaching, and systems change."
Applicants must have a degree in an academic field related to the health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position and qualifying experience (such as: "qualifying experience include: resolving scientific disputes involving scientific ethics, authorship, intellectual property, and/or team science; analyzing research findings and reviewing science programs to make recommendations regarding scientific disputes; researching issues that arise from scientific collaborations, such as identifying contributions and determining individual research responsibilities; and collaborating with other scientists about the complexity and meaning of scientific disputes.")
