Cornell Medical School Creates Ombuds Program for Students

Weill Cornell Medicine has appointed Henry W. Murray, MD, as its first Ombudsperson. Murray will serve about 800 students from the highly selective medical school and the affiliated Weill Graduate School of Medical Sciences. Murray reports to the dean of the Medical College of Cornell University and practices to IOA standards. He has been a faculty member since 1979 is current a professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases. 

Murray graduated from Cornell's medical college, trained at New York Hospital and Johns Hopkins Hospital, and did fellowships at George Washington and Rockefeller University. He has served as Division Chief and helped to found Weill Cornell’s Travel Clinic. He has a particular interest in travel medicine and parasitic infections, editor of Tropimed-U.S. (a travel medicine website). (Weill Cornell Ombuds; Faculty Profile.)
