IOA Announces New Board Members for 2019

The International Ombudsman Association has announced the results of the annual election for its 2019 Board of Directors. Following the Business Meeting at the annual conference in New Orleans in April, three directors will begin three-year terms on the IOA Board. Two directors were reelected and there was one new member elected:

David Carver (incumbent) – Student Ombudsperson, University of Nebraska Medical Center;
Willem Kweens, CO-OP – West European Ombudsman, Mars Inc.; and
Bruce MacAllister (incumbent) – Program Director, Office of the Ombudsman, International Foundation for Online Responsibility

Organizational Ombuds serve as a confidential, independent, neutral and informal dispute resolution resource for a specific entity. They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness. These unique characteristics distinguish Organizational Ombuds from Classical Ombuds, mediators, arbitrators, and other alternative dispute resolution professionals.
