Call for Secrets: IOA 2020 Conference

The International Ombudsman Association is seeking submissions for an exhibit modeled after PostSecret (a community art project in which people mail their secrets anonymously on a homemade postcard). Whether or not they will be attending the conference, Ombuds can send anonymous secrets to a private address that will then be shared in Portland, March 30 to April 1, 2020.
Here are more details:

Let Us Hear Your Story!
Ombuds hear countless confidential stories every day. Yet, we have few outlets to share our own. OmbudSecret 2020 will remedy that.

OmbudSecret is modeled after PostSecret, an ongoing art project in which people anonymously mail things they have never shared with anyone before on postcards, usually handwritten or created by hand. They are sometimes funny, sometimes heartbreaking, but always authentic.

How Do You Participate?
Create a postcard-sized secret. The only requirements are that the information must be a real secret, it must relate to your experience as an ombud or working in conjunction with ombuds, and the note must be capable of being displayed on a wall without unfolding.

Mail postcards, or notes in an envelope to:
OmbudSecret
2535 Applegate St.
Philomath OR 97370
This is a private mailbox. Your secrets will be collected by the OmbudSecret organizers and curated to be displayed at the conference.

Go to postsecret.com for general examples.

  1. You can think of my comments here as a long-term art project.

  2. Maybe the exhibit could feature a "best of" Angry Ombuds postings
