The U.S. Department of Commerce agency that issues patents and registers trademarks is hiring a Senior Ombudsman in Alexandria, VA. The position is within the Office of the Under Secretary, Office of the Ombudsman, which is the agency resource for managing conflict, fostering organizational collaboration and effective communication, and providing organization-wide systemic feedback and options for solutions to workplace issues. 


Applicants must have the following experience: analyzing conflict and formulating or collaborating on the formulation of ombudsman or conflict resolution program initiatives; addressing new, complex, or unique issues as an ombudsman, including issues representing a departure from previous practices; serving as a liaison between an employee and management; and using the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) techniques and processes used in organizational ombudsman practice, including understanding the mechanisms and benefits of each. This job is open to individuals with disabilities, current or former competitive service federal employees, military spouses, Peace Corps & AmeriCorps Vista, and U.S. veterans.
