The NIH Office of the Ombudsman is hiring one or more Associate Ombudsmen. The NIH Office of the Ombudsman is an Organizational Ombuds office, serving the world’s largest biomedical research funding organization. NIH is made up of 27 Institutes and Centers, employing approximately 18,000 employees.
Those hired as Associate Ombudsmen will be responsible for helping to provide the NIH community with confidential and informal assistance in resolving work and lab-related conflicts, disputes and grievances, as well as using workshops and internal collaborations to promote creative problem resolution.
Applicants must have at least a year of relevant experience (mediation or facilitation activities, presentations on conflict resolution techniques, providing ADR guidance to managers and employees); or doctoral degree or related LLM; or equivalent combination of education and specialized experience. The range for the GS-12/13 positions is $72,030 to $133,465 per year. Applications are due by February 25, 2020 (the now customary one-week Federal posting window).
