ACCUO Opens Registration for 2025 Conference

The Association of Canadian College and University Ombudspersons (Association des ombudsmans des universités et collèges du Canada) has announced details for its 2025 conference: "Moving Forward, Never Backward." The online, half-day event will take place on November 21, 2025, and is aimed at "higher education ombuds professionals from across Canada and beyond." Here is the full announcement:

ACCUO 2025: Moving Forward, Never Backward invites higher education ombuds professionals from across Canada and beyond to come together for a half-day virtual conference focused on resilience, and continuous growth.

This year’s theme encourages reflection, self-awareness, and renewal, recognizing that even through challenge and change, our work continues to evolve with compassion, fairness, and courage. The program will feature an inspiring keynote by Jay Chalke, Ombudsperson of British Columbia, interactive breakout sessions, and collective reflections that invite learning and connection.

Whether you are new to ombuds practice or a seasoned professional, this event offers a space to share experiences, explore emerging issues, and strengthen our collective capacity to move forward - together.

Organizational Ombuds serve as a confidential, independent, neutral and informal dispute resolution resource for a specific entity. They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness. These unique characteristics distinguish Organizational Ombuds from Classical Ombuds, mediators, arbitrators, and other alternative dispute resolution professionals.
