Framework for Open and Reproducible Research Training Launches Ombuds Program

FORRT, a decentralized, international, volunteer-based community that advances open and reproducible research practices, has established a Confidential Advisor and Ombuds program. The inaugural Confidential Advisor is Ruth Van der Hallen and the inaugural Ombuds is Thomas Rhys Evans. Together, they will provide confidential and informal support for members of the organization and help address concerns affecting the FORRT community. (FORTT Confidential Advisor & Ombuds.) 

Van der Hallen is an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at Erasmus University Rotterdam, where her work focuses on trauma, coping, mental health, and interpersonal processes. She also serves as a confidential advisor for students and staff and is a licensed clinical psychologist and psychotherapist. Van der Hallen earned her BSc, MSc, and DR degrees at KU Leuven. Evans is a Professor of Occupational Psychology and Open Scholarship at the University of Greenwich whose research focuses on occupational psychology, open scholarship, and societal challenges including climate change and sustainability. He earned a BS and PhD from Coventry University and an MS from Birkbeck, University of London. (LinkedIn.)
