KP is hiring a full-time HealthCare Ombuds/Mediator for its medical facilities in Walnut Creek, California. The Kaiser HCOM, "functions as a trained alternative dispute professional offering patients, family members, staff & providers a conflict management program to resolve patient/provider healthcare disputes early thereby improving patient safety & reducing the costs of health care dispute resolution." The position requires travel 50% of the time.

Applicants should have a "Masters degree in Business, Counseling, Health Care, Social Work, or related field" and a minimum of 10 years of experience in a health care or clinical environment or a directly related field, including at least five years in a leadership role. The incumbent must complete a 40-hour or more mediator certification course within three months of hire or transfer.
