Texas A&M Restructuring Ombuds Office

Jeff Vitter, the Provost at Texas A&M University reports that the search for a new faculty Ombuds is continuing while the office is restructured.
The role of faculty ombudsperson has previously been one of the responsibilities of the dean of faculties and associate provost, and that dual role has created confusion and conflicts among the faculty. We are currently surveying our AAU peer institutions to identify models for structuring the post of faculty ombudsperson; it will report to the office of the provost.
