USA Swimming Suspends Michael Phelps After Consulting USOC Ombuds

This week USA Swimming Executive Director Chuck Wielgus imposed a three-month suspension on Olympian Michael Phelps apparently using marijuana at a college party last fall. According to the Washington Post, Wielgus made the decision after discussing the matter with the USA Swimming board of directors, the leadership of the U.S. Olympic Committee and the USOC ombudsman.
