Binghamton University Hires Ombuds

The 14,000-student State University of New York has selected Dawn M. Osborne-Adams as its next Ombuds. She will fill the vacancy left by Binghamton's first Ombuds, Francine Montemurro, who moved to Boston University last summer.


Osborne-Adams has managed the mediation program for the Federal District Court in the Central District of California since 2006. In 2009, she was honored by the court for her work to advance the delivery of effective court-based ADR programs. Osborne-Adams earned her JD from NYU and externed at the UC Riverside Ombuds Office. She is earning an LLM from the Straus Institute at Pepperdine University. (Metropolitan News-Enterprise; NY State Bar.)
