Los Alamos National Lab Opens Search for Ombuds

The Department of Energy laboratory in New Mexico will be hiring an internal candidate for its Ombuds Office. In addition to handling Ombuds cases, the position will be responsible for managing the lab's volunteer mediation program.


Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree and at least eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Significant Ombuds and mediation training and experience, and IOA membership are preferred. The position pays $57,800 to $91,800 per year. Kirk Christensen has been the sole Ombuds for LANL since March 2009. He inherited the office from Camilla Lopez and John L. Armijo, who served on an interim basis after the retirement of Bruce McAllister.
