The Staff Ombuds Office at Berkeley is hiring an Assistant Ombudsperson. The search will fill a position held by Michele Bernal since about 1997. The position reports to Director, Sara Thacker, and works with Associate Ombuds, Lauren Bloom, to provide conflict resolution and problem-solving services for all Staff, Non-Senate Academics, and Faculty.
Applicants must have a bachelors degree and/or equivalent experience/training, including completion of the International Ombudsman Association Foundations course (Ombuds 101), basic mediation or conflict coaching courses.
A masters degree in conflict resolution and computer skills, especially database and website content management, are preferred. The position pays $58,700-$70,000 and applications are due by April 20, 2016 (UC Berkeley Staff Ombuds Reports; Daily California.)
