The California Caucus of College and University Ombuds is calling for individuals to be nominated to serve on its Board of Directors and to be recognized for their volunteer work. Here are the details:
Board of Directors -- Call for Nominations
Presently, we would like to invite you to nominate yourself, or other individuals, to be a part of the Board of Directors of Cal Caucus. The Board meets in person once a year at its annual caucus meeting at Asilomar. One or two additional telephone meetings may occur throughout the year.
The next Annual Board of Directors Meeting will be held at Asilomar Conference Grounds on Wednesday, November 15th 2017, at which time all individuals attending the 2017 Caucus can vote for the next Board of Directors.
Also, we are writing to ask you to nominate yourself, or other individuals, who might be interested in Officer positions, including Treasurer, President, Vice President, and Secretary. The officers run the day-to-day business of the Caucus. The amount of volunteer time for these positions is generally under 4 hours per month. The Board of Directors will appoint the next set of Officers at their next meeting on November 15th.
Finally, if you have any interest on serving on the Planning Committee, Programming Committee, Awards Committee, or the Journal of the California College and University Ombuds, please let us know, as we welcome all volunteers.

As someone who has participated in the California Caucus of College and University Ombuds (Cal Caucus), you know that the unique, rewarding experience of the conference is made possible through the generous contributions by Cal Caucus volunteers. Designing a rich and interesting program, registration, housing -- every last detail is the result of efforts by those who contribute their time and talent.
We write as the 2017 Awards Committee inviting you to nominate those who have made outstanding contributions for the following:
The Valerie Craigwell White Service Award which recognizes significant service and leadership contributions to Cal Caucus and the annual conference.
The Pete Small Award which distinguishes a colleague as “Ombudsperson of the Year” for work within Cal Caucus and beyond that is recognized as unique and substantial in advancing the field of ombudsing.(Cal Caucus Info.)
