University of the Bahamas Appoints First Ombuds

Marisa Mason-Smith will be the first Ombuds for the national university based in Nassau and the country's first Organizational Ombuds. Mason-Smith will report to UB's board of trustees and serve students, faculty, staff and administrators—a population of almost 7,000. 

Mason-Smith was the Assistant General Manager for HR of Bahamas Light and Power for nearly 15 years before becoming a private consultant last year. She graduated from Florida Atlantic University and earned a Master's in HR at the University of Manchester. (Nassau Tribune; LinkedIn.)
