Julia Farmer became the Director of Ombuds Services at UWG in January 2020 after previously serving as the Interim Faculty Ombuds. She succeeds University Ombuds Tahirih Varner. As the full-time director, Farmer serves all faculty, staff, and students (a total population of nearly 20,000), and practices to IOA standards.
Farmer moved into the position after a dozen years as a faculty member at UWG. She contiues as a Professor of Spanish. She graduated from Bryn Mawr College and earned her PhD from the University of California Berkeley. Last year, she completed a MS in conflict management at Kennesaw State University. (LinkedIn.)
