A letter from Interim Ombuds D.J. Baker confirms that Southern University and A&M College closed its Ombuds Office at the end of July. The letter does not explain why the office, which opened in November 2009 and sought job applicants last fall, was closed:

I draft this communiqué to inform you all that effective TODAY, Wednesday, July 27, 2011, the Office of the University Ombudsperson will be officially CLOSED. In the future, please direct all inquiries and needs for service to the Division of Academic and Student Affairs or any other university functional area, so they may be able to assist you further. Thank you for allowing us to serve you and we wish you the best on your path to graduation. Thank you.
