National Institutes of Health Initiates Lecture Series to Honor First Ombuds

The NIH Office of the Ombudsman kicks of a lecture series in honor of its first Ombudsman, Howard Gadlin, who retired in 2015. The inaugural NIH Gadlin Lecture will be given by renowned animal behaviorist Dr. Frans B. M. de Waal on Thursday, May 10, 2018. 

DeWaal, will offer remarks on “Animal Emotions and Empathy”, drawing on his research on empathy in primates to make connections to potential areas of study for human behavior. He offered the keynote at the 2015 IOA conference in Atlanta. There is limited seating to this event and RSVP's must be submitted by today, May 7, 2018. (IADRWG Announcement.)
