Negotiation Journal Opens Access for Mary Rowe's Articles

The academic journal produced by the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School is offering free access to its a collection of articles by Mary Rowe, former MIT Ombuds, Adjunct Professor of Negotiation and Management at the MIT Sloan School of Management, and thought-leader in the Ombuds profession. The articles will be free through September 2021.

These articles span decades. They look at:
  • Functions needed in an Integrated Conflict Management System;
  • Options that are needed by constituents who use that system who feel harassed;
  • Role of an Organizational Ombuds in an ICMS;
  • Book review comparison of other writing on what an ICMS is;
  • Helping constituents help themselves directly;
  • Fostering active bystander behavior;
  • Original Options Functions and Skills article about Organizational Ombuds;
  • Report on the Navy system after the TailHook scandal; and
  • Random notes on theory— including what the nation needs in the light of President Trump's unusual negotiation style and mode, and a small change needed in negotiation theory when, instead of bargaining over goods and services, what the parties to a conflict want is simply to injure the other.
