Digital Games Research Association Names First Three Ombuds

The international professional association for digital gaming academics and researchers has selected its first three Ombuds: Diana Mosonyi; Lauren Marx; and Chris LaHatte. Their work will be supported by two DiGRA insiders who will serve as Ombuds Secretaries, Madeleine Antonellos and Christine Tomlinson. The three Ombuds will practice to IOA standards and serve as a resource for DiGRA community members, conference attendees, and listserv participants.

Diana Mosonyi is a Contract Ombuds, workplace conflict resolution consultant, and mediator. Last fall, she became the founding President of the Hungarian Organizational Ombuds Association. She also works as a contractor for Business Excellence Solutions. Mosonyi graduated from Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetem and earned a Master's degree at Budapest Metropolitan University. (LinkedIn.)

Lauren Marx is an expert in workplace conflict management systems, Ombuds, and conflict coaching. As a project manager for chiResolution, Marx was a co-author of, "The Use of Ombuds in Federal Agencies," for the Administrative Conference of the U.S. In 2018, she was co-chair of the (first-ever) ABA Ombuds Day Task Force. Marx graduated from the University of Florida and earned a MS in Conflict Analysis and Resolution at Nova Southeastern University. (LinkedIn.)

Chris LaHatte is a barrister and mediator, and served as the ICANN Ombudsman from 2011 to 2016. Since then, LaHatte has been the Ombuds for the World Science Fiction Convention and with Mediators Beyond Borders International. He also write a regular blog about conflict resolution. LaHatte graduated from Massey University and earned an LLB from the University of Auckland. (LinkedIn.)
