Association for the Study of Higher Education Selects Two Ombuds

Later this week, Dawn Osborne-Adams (Ombuds at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) and Chuck Sloane (Ombud at the University of Washington) will be serving as Conference Ombuds at the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE) annual conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
ASHE is a scholarly society that is engaged in the study of higher education through research, conferences, and its highly regarded journal, The Review of Higher Education. About half of ASHE members are university faculty, and members also include researchers working in non-university settings, including government, think-tanks, and advocacy organizations.  (YouTube.)

The selection of Osborne-Adams and Sloane to serve as the inaugural Conference Ombuds for ASHE, reflects the increasing use of Conference Ombuds to support professional conferences, particularly those with a connection to higher education.
